What's up, Jacksonville!
Spring is officially here, the weather is perfect, and we've got that itch to be outside doing ALL the things. So this week we put together our Spring Bucket List β 10 things around Jax you need to do before summer hits and it gets, well... you know... Florida hot. π₯΅
Plus, the Jumbo Shrimp are back at VyStar Ballpark, Ali Wong is at the Florida Theatre, and there's plenty happening at the markets, breweries, and comedy clubs this week too. (scroll down for the full event lineup!)
Here's to making the most of this beautiful season, Jax!

π° Jax News You Should Know β The Block Jax Is Open (and It's a Whole Vibe)

If you've been on social media at all in the last week, you've probably seen this β The Block Jax officially opened on March 20 and it absolutely BLEW UP. We're talking an estimated 15,000β20,000 people during opening weekend. The parking situation got a little chaotic (cars were getting towed from nearby lots β yikes), but the venue itself? People are loving it.
So what is it? It's Jax's first purpose-built outdoor food hall β a 2.5-acre space off Gate Parkway near IKEA in Deerwood, built out of shipping containers with a 10,000 sq ft covered pavilion, a live music stage with a 30-foot LED screen, a fenced kids play area (with a life-sized Candy Land β yes, really), and an on-site dog park run by Kanine Social. The food vendors are almost all Jax-based, which we love: The Bearded Piglet, Darkside Tacos, Chancho King, Just Kitchen, Dairy Joy, and Southern Swells is running a mini-brewery on-site.
Founder Daniel Moffatt built this for families who want to actually hang out somewhere β not rush through dinner with antsy kids. And honestly, the concept is exactly what Jax needed. They're open Wednesday through Sunday and working on parking solutions after the wild opening weekend
