Jaguars Officially Heading To Orlando For 2027 Season

It's official, Duval.

On March 31, all 32 NFL team owners unanimously approved a one-year lease that will send the Jacksonville Jaguars to Orlando's Camping World Stadium for the entire 2027 season, clearing the way for EverBank Stadium to finish its $1.4 billion "Stadium of the Future" renovation.

Here's what this means for fans:

  • The 2026 season will still be played at EverBank, but with reduced capacity of around 43,500 seats

  • All 2027 home games will move to Camping World Stadium in Orlando (about 2.5 hours down I-95)

  • The new EverBank Stadium is set to open in 2028 with a shade canopy that cuts heat retention by 70%, a 360-degree concourse, and major infrastructure upgrades

For season ticket holders, seniority was frozen after the 2025 season, which means you don't have to buy 2027 tickets in Orlando to keep your place in line for the new stadium. More details here.

It's a strange feeling, but the trade-off is a brand-new stadium built for the next generation of Duval football, and honestly, an Orlando weekend road trip could end up being its own kind of fun.

City Updates

New Music Heritage Garden Opens Downtown This Spring

Downtown Jacksonville is getting a brand-new park this spring, and it's one of the most unique projects the city has worked on in years.

The Music Heritage Garden is a $6 million park stretching along the Northbank from Water Street to Hogan Street, right next to the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts. It's designed to celebrate Jacksonville's deep musical roots, and the details are pretty special.

Here's what the new park will include:

  • Walkways shaped like musical notes and staves

  • A Walk of Fame honoring Jacksonville musicians and composers

  • Playable recordings of music connected to the city

  • A music-themed children's play area perfect for families

  • An outdoor projection venue for nightly performances

The park is part of a bigger riverfront redevelopment that also includes the new Riverfront Plaza (the former Jacksonville Landing site), which opened its first phase late last year.

If you haven't walked the downtown riverfront in a while, this spring is the time. Between Riverfront Plaza, the new Music Heritage Garden, and the updated Friendship Fountain on the Southbank, it's starting to feel like a true "front porch for the city," as Mayor Deegan has called it.
